We Chose the bitterroot

Todd Colomy started his career early, tinkering with motorcycles at age 15, working for a Honda motorcycle dealer. Eager to learn as much as he could, Todd read any magazine or book he could get his hands on that had to do with auto repair. As time progressed, he wore many hats throughout the years as he advanced his education and knowledge of engine systems, including working on F-14 Tomcat hydraulics systems for the Navy for 4 years, as well as working for Wyoming Technical Institute as a professor, educating and training the next generation’s auto mechanics.

After the hustle and bustle of the bigger cities and 15 years of working on European cars, Todd & his wife Jamie chose to move to Montana with their two kids. It truly is the “last best place” and they wanted more community and like minded individuals with similar goals. Switching his focus to American and Japanese vehicles, they opened the Car Clinic in Victor, Montana. They have worked hard to create a successful automotive repair shop here in the Bitterroot Valley that reflects their family values. The Car Clinic has been family owned and operated¬† from day 1 here in Western Montana and will always be.¬†

Our Shop Mission

As an automotive repair shop goes, we keep things pretty simple. We want to work for good people in the Bitterroot Valley, providing customers with clear and accurate estimates of repairs & maintenance for their vehicle. We will know quickly if we cannot solve your problem. If we can’t help, we will do our best in pointing you in a direction of someone who can.

We Keep It Factory

The parts we use in repairs are new, generally made to original manufacturer's specifications, either by the vehicle manufacturer or an independent company. We believe this gives the most predictable and safe outcome for your vehicle.

1996 And Newer

Vehicles before 1996 have most likely had several owners, with quite a bit of work done by other auto mechanics. We have chosen to specialize in keeping things as close to the original manufacturing as possible and to do this while providing quick and efficient service, we like to do repairs and maintenance on newer vehicles.

Questions Are Always Welcome

A vehicle is a system and is very interrelated. The more you know about your vehicle, the more likely you'll be able to head off repair problems. You can detect many common vehicle problems by using your senses: listening for unfamiliar noises, sensing a difference in the way your vehicle drives, or even noticing new and different odors. Our goal is education, and our mechanic is always accessible for questions.

Customers Are Family

This is the main reason why we are in Montana. We want to work daily with good people and earn their loyalty by hard work and honest car repair. At the end of the day, we enjoy solving problems, getting you back on the road but we also are in the bitterroot for the long haul. We are raising a family & building a community by being here.

Who Are We

Todd’s main focus is the shop, but in his off time if he is not reading about cars & the latest auto stuff, he is gardening, doing lawn care around the house, cruising drones, racing planes & RC planes around the Bitterroot Valley.
